Silversmithing Course May

Welcome to my intro to silversmithing course! I’m so excited for my second course this year. This will be a fun, easy-going, work at your own pace kind of class to learn intro and intermediate skills. I’m confident you will leave knowing the essentials of silversmithing and the stream-lined process of making beautiful and sellable pieces. 

This class will meet on the following four Sundays from 11am-2pm; 5/18, 5/25, 6/1, and 6/8. These classes will be held at my workspace inside of Fiction, located at 2717 Washington Blvd in Ogden Utah. We are a dark blue building and parking is available in the lot on the south side of the building. 

In this course you will learn the fundamentals and technicalities of silversmithing from soldering, sawing, forming, stamping, sanding, and polishing. I will give you any resources for sourcing your own metal and stones if you wish to do so. The materials (silver and stone) and use of tools needed for our class projects are included in the price, so you won’t need to bring anything but yourself! You will choose a stone from my stash and design and make your own ring, as well as a hand stamped silver cuff bracelet. If you’ve taken this class before then you’re free to make 2 pieces of your choose. I’ll provide silver for 2 small projects, if you wish to do something bigger I ask that you source your own silver (I can help with that). I will provide a course syllabus for each of you to reference the steps, course curriculum, and tool safety, as well as resources for silversmithing.
